At Allovus, we’re in the midst of creating holiday magic. Hayley and her elves are delivering custom-designed Allovus wine bottles to our clients. (Illustrated by our own Robert Massa.) The office halls are being decked out in greenery and festive lights. The entire business team has been decorating a gingerbread village to be displayed in our Gig Harbor street-side window. All in all, we’re committed to the joy of the season.
Holiday merrymaking in the workplace often spills over to our homes. Does your creative work life lend inspiration to your holiday home decorating? If you’re looking for some inspiration, here are some ways to get into the spirit.
Attend some local holiday events. Here are a few local happenings to get you started.
- Green Lake Pathway of Lights: Enjoy the warm glow of luminaria, music, and refreshments as you travel the 2.8-mile path around Green Lake.
- Christmas Ships at the Parks: Pick your park (click title for details) and enjoy the lights and music of the Christmas ships from the shore. This is a free event. Enjoy!
- Woodland Park Zoo Wildlights and Point Defiance Zoolights. Can’t think of anything better than combining holiday lights with beautiful animals… So much fun!
- Pacific Northwest Ballet Nutcracker: No explanation needed. This production is eye candy for the soul.
Decorating tips for transforming your home into a beacon of holiday spirit.
- Choose a limited color palette. Having a festive but limited palette creates a more pleasing look to your decor. From the tree to the garlands, wreaths, and ribbons, a limited palette can tie all the decorations together for a clean and classy look.
- Include local greenery. We live in the Pacific Northwest! Chances are that you have some evergreen trees in your yard. Snip some branches off your trees and use them on your fireplace mantel or staircase railings. Choose a festive ribbon in your color palette to weave into the greenery.
- Put out holiday-themed kitchen towels, pillows, candles, etc. to enhance that cozy element we all yearn for this time of year.
Enjoy the beauty of the season! Allovus wishes you joy, love, and peace.
